This is literally the only thing keeping your brake pedal  attached to your master cylinder!
From 1958-1966, the  pedal assemblies on Beetles and Ghias used a cleverly simple  device to keep the brake pedal pushrod attached to the brake  pedal - a pin with a lock plate.
There was no way these could ever come undone which was  important since without them you your brake pedal would no  longer be attached to the master cylinder causing a deadly  situation. Unfortunately lock plates are not meant to be reused  as they will break and yet people do but believe us - you never  want to cut corners on your brakes. This kit gives you a brand  new retaining pin along with it's lock plate so you won't need  to worry about your brake pedal again!
Do it once - do it right!

1 x Part # 113721221 - Brake Pedal Push Rod Retaining Pin Lock Plate (lock plates are bare metal so you may see some small rust spots but they are not defects or problems however they can be easily cleaned off if desired)
