Vintage Lot Otagiri Penguin Japan Ballet Mugs Set of 3 New Old Stock, Org. Tags. Condition is "New".
For your consideration we offer this set of 3 Vintage Otagiri Ballerina Penguin ceramic mugs. This adorable set would accompany a ballerina Penguin teapot also offered by Otagiri. These are an estate find and are new old stock, they were tucked away in a box for safe keeping and never used or displayed. Each mug retains its original Otagiri paper label on the underside. No evidence of damage, no chips, cracks or crazing that we could find. Item appears to be hand painted and there are very subtle differences in the paint application due to the artists hand touches but this is a part of the items charm. Each Penguin is dressed in a pink tutu and ballet slippers. The penguins have bright blue eyes and pink pearl necklaces with a heart charms.
A quirky fun item to display, gift or enjoy. These can be added to your mug collection, mated to the Otagiri Penguin Ballerina Teapot (there are a few listed) or they can be displayed and enjoyed for your personal use.
