Vintage Detroit Address Cardboard Mailing Tube Container Western Box Co Chicago

Description

This is an antique/vintage cardboard mailing tube, made by the Western Box Co., Chicago, IL in the early 1900's. Metal screw off lid and metal bottom stamped with company information. Cardboard body has original mailing label with name and address of recipient, and part of the postage stamp. From a family estate, so we can date it to the early 1900's. Tube measures 3 1/2" high x 1 1/2" in diameter. Typical wear for a cardboard and metal item from over 100 years ago. Part of the mailing label and stamp are missing.
