$ 23.76

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Country/Region of Manufacture: Italy
  • Condition: Calendar is in pretty good shape overall with a few minor issues. March and December pages both have a few creases in them and there are a few marks and spots on other pages so it's not perfect. However the colors are still sharp and vibrant and the paper stock is heavy and straight as it should be. Most of the illustrations could even be framed if you wanted to go that route.

    Description

    This is a wonderful calendar published by  the Olivetti company famous for its typewriters. They made these calendars for their employees and customers and this one dates to 1972. Each year a different artist or genre was selected to help enlighten and educate the employees about the beauty of art and this years honoree was Egon Schiele. Schiele was an Austrian who was born in 1890 and passed away in 1918 from the Spanish flu. His time was brief but oh what a comet. His works today sell in the millions and he was dubbed a mixture of Expressionism and Contemporary whose work was quite haunting and moving and even considered somewhat pornographic in his day. I think these 13 illustrations capture his work beautifully and the colors are still quite strong and vibrant. Thank you Olivetti for your vision and dedication to the world of art!
