his listing is for a lightly used Selmer (Paris) S80 C* mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. The S80 is widely regarded as one of the best all around mouthpieces for intermediate to advanced level players. This piece is ideally suited for all varieties of 'legit' music, such as concert/symphonic band, orchestra, sax quartet/chamber ensemble, and solo classical performance. It will also work for jazz and contemporary styles in a pinch. The C* facing is the most popular. It is more open at the tip than a typical 'stock' or student level mouthpiece, but not so much so as to be difficult to control.
This mouthpiece is in excellent used condition. T
he tip and side rails, are perfectly smooth and all original/unaltered, and there are no indentations on the beak. There is some very minor scuffing on the edge of the table, but it doesn't affect playability of this mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is slightly faded/discolored from age, which is quite normal for hard rubber. It
has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to play. These sell for over 0 for a brand new one on ebay, and the cost at a brick and mortar music store is much higher. This is a great chance to get a high quality, as good as new Selmer mouthpiece at a significant savings compared to the cost of a brand new one!
Also included are the cap and ligature shown, both of which are in excellent condition as well.
