his listing is for a vintage Meyer "New York, USA" alto saxophone mouthpiece. It is an early NY, USA version, which features the same scooped inner side walls as the "NY Meyer Bros." pieces from the 1950's, but with a thinner body, giving it a brighter tone. This is the quintessential mouthpiece for bebop and big band (lead alto) players. Phil Woods, and countless other pro players used this model.
Unfortunately this one has sustained some serious damage. There is a piece chipped off of the corner of the tip. The broken off piece is missing. I know that this can be repaired because I have had other pieces with similar damage fixed. It is done by recreating the missing material with epoxy and then refacing the piece. This, of course, is a job for a professional.  If there is any mouthpiece that is worth the effort for this type of repair, it is a vintage Meyer!
Obviously the piece does not play in its current state, so it is being sold as is with no guarantees.
