    Description

Meliphone mouthpieces are famous because these mouthpiece exhibit many features of the legendary Henri Chedeville mouthpieces such as higher baffle with a bit of concavity. The hard rubber of this mouthpiece is exceptional for its resonance qualities and can be considered to be one of the best.
Oval-logo Meliphone mouthpieces have "New York" or "Paris" at the bottom. Either city isn't readable; however, the word "france" is very faintly visible at the bottom of the table. Eugene Bercioux is the man who founded Meliphone and he worked in France with the Chedevilles before coming to the United States to establish the Wood Wind Co. Eugene can be considered to be the founder of hard rubber material for clarinet mouthpieces, and that hard rubber with slight variability composition was used by many legendary mouthpiece makers of the 20th century. The "Patent Process No 1452953" is partially visible to the right of the table. The facing is totally original and this mouthpiece just needs a new cork. This mouthpiece will play great with Vandoren traditional blue box strength 3 or 3.5 reeds.
