H KAUFMANN  tailor/ household/ craft/ sewing scissors.
Kaufmann is well known for making the MERCATOR "CAT" knife which has been popular for many years as a simple but strong lock blade folder. One of the oldest makers in Solingen, it offered many other types of cutlery as well as knives. These scissors are some of their finest products.
8 inch size.
Finest quality Solingen German high carbon steel .
Fully forged blades.
Screw together construction.
Still has original K55K label.
High quality heavy duty scissors made form best Solingen German steel. The blades are fully hot forged and are made thicker and heavier than modern scissors that are stamped from steel sheets.
Top quality high carbon steel blades are not rust resistant but keep a sharp edge for a long time and can be professionally re-sharpened over and over again for many years.
These are suitable for cutting thicker material and are more resistant to flexing and bending. The blades are held together with a large bolt and nut for very strong and durable construction. These are built to last a lifetime but due to the high cost, few German makers are offering such scissors today.
Vintage old production that was discontinued many years ago.
Great item for the collector or for daily use.
Unused and unsharpened condition. May have minor carbon and oil spots from long storage but no damage.
