This is an original press photo. West Delta Silver King- Despite an abundance of schooling, thrashing tarpon in the waters of Southwest Pass last Labor Day weekend, Greater New Orleans Tarpon Club anglers were able to secure but four silver kings in three days of hard fishing for the annual Abbeville-Kiwanis Tarpon Rodeo. Al Wehmier of the Crescent City shows of this 110-pounder, one of three fish taken aboard Bob McDonald's "Chrischelle." Frustrated GNOTC members said the tarpon just weren't biting. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-8-1974.
